The "Techniques of ......" booklets are designed to appeal to the beginner as well as the more advanced embroiderer. They have been created to provide basic instruction on seldom taught ethnic techniques.
Each file includes information on the historical and cultural background of the technique; identifying characteristics; close-ups and illustrations of the basic stitches; a discussion of the fibers, fabrics and tools recommended; illustrations on starting and ending threads; and a complete bibliograph of the research materials used. This booklet is intended to serve as a reference for subsequent projects.
The featured project on the cover was designed to provide experience in the technique. Occasionally, a starter project is included which allows you to learn the technique with a smaller design, before moving on to the larger, featured design.
