This website is devoted to the wonderful world of textiles all around us. Throughout my many years of researching and studying textiles, I have seen many factors that lead to my belief that there is a common bond between textile lovers.

Many identical stitches are called by a variety of different names, but when analyzed, the stitch turns out to be one shared by many different cultures.  In a similiar vein, common designs are used by many different peoples. Color families are also used on a world-wide basis.

It is my hope that by exploring the information presented on this site, that you begin to recognize and appreciate that the "threads" that bind us together will last for many generations, and are stronger than contemporary political differences.

Background information on techniques I have researched can be found on the "Descriptions" tab. The instructions on ethnic techniques formerly sold by me as Ethnic Fiber Arts booklets, are now available in printed form and downloadable files through Nordic Needle on the "Shop" tab.

I hope you will explore my site, discover new needlework techniques, and re-discover many textile techniques found throughout the cultures of the world.

Honoring Cultural Diversity
